Cultural Diversity Dance Competition 27th August 2022
Objective: To promote the understanding of unique cultural and ethnic heritage
Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College organized an intercollegiate dance competition with participants representing the dance forms of different states in India.
Indian culture is an amalgamation of different cultures with many languages, religions, music, dance, food etc. in order to showcase Unity through, Diversity.
The program started with the lighting of the lamp. This was followed by group dances from Maharashtra, Kashmir, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Punjab and Bengal. All the performers were colourfully dressed in beautiful attire of the state they were representing. RGI Choreographer Mr. Chetan Dashmukhe & Alumni-Ms. Sharvari Parkale were invited to judge the competition. Maharashtrian group dance – ‘Gondhal’ won the first prize, followed by the Kashmir group which secured the second position. The winners were awarded with cash prizes and certificates.
