GHRCEM, Pune Visit Students Solar Rooftop Plant

Renewable Energy club under Mechanical Engineering Department of GHRCEM, Pune organized Students Solar rooftop plant visit at GHRCEM roof top solar plant on 12/9/2025. The faculty member Mr. Kamal Ukey, Coordinator of Renewable Energy Club and Dr. Himadri Majumder Conducted and coordinated solar plant visit, he explained the working of solar cells that  Solar cell works on the principle of photovoltaic effect according to which free electrons are produced when light of certain wavelength is incident on semiconductors. He also explained working of solar rooftop plant when sunlight hits the photovoltaic (PV) tiles in your Solar Roof; it is absorbed by solar cells, creating a flow of electric current. This direct current (DC) energy is then sent to your solar inverter, which converts it to the alternating current (AC) energy that can power your home. Students have actively participated and interacted with the authorities about how the installation and working of plant and also discussed about the capacity (75KW) 300unit per day, and installation cost of plant. Overall program was successfully conducted. Total 62 students from different department and 2 faculty were visited solar plant/park.
