GHRCEM, Jalgaon Organized Cleanliness Drive – Post Ganpati Visarjan at Mehrun Lake

The Rotaract Club of Raisoni Jalgaon, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and enthusiastic students from multiple branches, organized a Cleanliness Drive at Mehrun Lake, Jalgaon. The activity was conducted in the aftermath of the Ganpati Visarjan festival, during which a large number of idols were immersed in the lake. The main objective of the drive was to restore the natural beauty and hygiene of the lake surroundings. Students came together with great enthusiasm and teamwork, ensuring the area was cleaned thoroughly. Equipped with gloves, bags, and other necessary materials, they diligently collected waste and segregated it into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories. The Jalgaon Municipal Corporation (JMC) extended its full support to the drive by assisting in the proper collection, transportation, and disposal of the waste. Their active involvement ensured that the cleaning activity was conducted in a systematic and environmentally responsible manner. Beyond the physical act of cleaning, the drive carried a deeper purpose—it aimed to spread awareness about the importance of eco-friendly celebrations, responsible waste management, and community participation in protecting natural resources. Many local residents appreciated the efforts, and the initiative inspired onlookers to reflect on their own responsibility towards keeping the environment clean. Through this collective effort, students not only contributed to preserving the lake’s ecosystem but also showcased the power of youth in driving meaningful social and environmental change, with the valuable cooperation of the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation.
