A Seminar on “Drone Technology” at GHRCEM, Nagpur
The Drone Club of the Electronics & Telecommunication Department at GHRCEM, Nagpur organised a seminar on “Drone Technology” on 29 August 2025 for 3rd and 5th semester E&TC students. The session was conducted by the club’s faculty in‑charge and committee members to introduce students to current drone technologies and emerging trends. The seminar covered the history and evolution of drones, classification, payload installation and utilisation, UAV remote sensing (UAV‑RS) applications, and contemporary challenges in drone development and operations. Practical aspects such as flight control systems, propulsion, sensors and communication links were discussed, along with safety protocols and regulatory considerations for civilian and commercial drone use. Case studies demonstrated drone applications in agriculture, surveying, disaster management and infrastructure inspection, giving students a clear view of real‑world deployments. Approximately 30 students attended; Mr Vishal Jaiswal coordinated the programme under the guidance of Dr Devashree Marotkar (Head, E&TC) and Dr Vivek Kapur (Director, GHRCEM). The session concluded with a lively Q&A in which students raised technical queries about payload integration, battery management and autonomous navigation. Participants expressed satisfaction with the seminar and requested follow‑up workshops for hands‑on drone assembly and flying practice.
