Chess Competition Organised at GHRU, Amravati

The Sports Club of G H Raisoni University, Amravati successfully organized a Chess Competition on 30^th Sept 2025 at the University campus. The event was conducted under the guidance of Sports Club In-charge, Dr. Amar More, and coordinated by Dr. Kailash Das  and Prof Nitin Chitale. A total of 26 students participated in this exciting competition.

The inaugural function was graced by the presence of  Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, Registrar, Dr. Snehil Jaiswal, and Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Prashant Awchat. Their encouragement and support motivated the students, who were very enthusiastic and passionate about the game.

Competition Highlights

o    1st Position –  Prem Yadav, L.L.B 2^nd year

o    2nd Position – Nishad Mansute ,BCA 2^nd year

o    3^rd  Position – Akash Punde  L.L.B. (1st Year)

o    4^th Position –  Harshad Punde ,B.Tech (AI)

The winners and runners-up were felicitated with certificates by Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vinayak Deshpande, and Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Prashant Awchat, during the prize distribution ceremony. The event witnessed energetic participation, team spirit, and sportsmanship among students, making the tournament a grand success.
