Artificial Intelligence & AIML Organised at GHRCEM, Pune

The AI & Coding Club (AICC) of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and AIML at GH Raisoni College of Engineering and Management (GHRCEM) in Pune, in collaboration with the Society for Data Science (S4DS), successfully held a peer teaching session titled “Git and GitHub Mastery: Code, Commit, Conquer” on 8th August 2025.  The purpose of this session was to equip students with important skills in version control and collaborative development using GitHub. Mr. Atharva Kulkarni, a Data Science Intern at NullClass, led the session. He provided a practical, hands-on walkthrough on how to set up Git, manage repositories, and collaborate effectively using GitHub.

During the session, participants received step-by-step guidance on various topics, including:

-          An introduction to GitHub and the fundamentals of version control.

-          How to set up Git and configure their working environment.

-          Creating repositories and pushing code to GitHub.

-          Techniques for branching and merging to facilitate collaborative development.

-          Guidance on making their first open-source contribution.

The session saw enthusiastic participation from 84 students from different departments at GHRCEM Pune. All participants gained valuable, practical experience with industry-standard tools and workflows, enhancing their skills in software development and collaboration.
