GHRCEM, Pune Organised Industrial Visit to PMPML Charging Station, Lohegaon
On 11th April 2025, the Department of Electrical Engineering recently organized an industrial visit to the PMPML Electric Bus Charging Station, Lohegaon for Second Year Electrical Engineering students, including those enrolled in the Open Elective: Fundamentals of Electrical Vehicle, Open Elective: Energy Storage, and members of the e-Vehicle Club. The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the charging infrastructure of electric vehicles, particularly public transportation buses. The visit offered a unique opportunity to observe and understand the real-time operations of charging electric buses and the critical components involved in the system. During the visit, the PMPML technical team provided a comprehensive explanation of the entire charging process, showcasing the technological backbone that supports sustainable urban transport. They patiently answered the students' queries, enriching their knowledge about various aspects such as charging methods, energy management, safety protocols, and the role of EVs in reducing carbon emissions. Around 40 Students gained valuable insights into the importance of electric mobility in the context of modern urban planning and sustainable transportation. The experience was both informative and inspiring, enhancing the students' understanding of how theoretical concepts are applied in real-world scenarios.
