PPDT Event Organized by the Peer Counselor's Club at GH Raisoni College of Engineering & Management, Pune
In celebration of Mental Health Week, the Peer Counselor's Club of GH Raisoni College of Engineering & Management organized an inspiring event titled PPDT (Picture Perception and Discussion Test) at GHRCEM, Pune. This event aimed to spread awareness about mental health and social issues while highlighting the importance of a healthy work environment, in line with the theme of Mental Health Week 2024. Led by Peer Counselors Sakshi Gaikwad and Shrushti Kale, along with the dedicated members of Batch 3, the PPDT provided a dynamic platform for participants to engage deeply with significant themes. Through a series of thought-provoking images, attendees were encouraged to think critically and creatively, presenting their ideas in a collaborative environment that emphasized open communication and empathy.
Mrs. Surabhi Pranav, Counseling Psychologist at GHRCEM, delivered an insightful speech on the importance of mental health initiatives in the workplace and how events like the PPDT contribute to creating a more caring campus. From a pool of 126 mentees, 24 students were selected for the second round and divided into four groups of six. From these groups, eight students advanced to the final round, where Peer Counselor Vedika Dawani emerged as the winner. The success of the PPDT event underscored the dedication and teamwork of the Peer Counselor's Club Batch 3 members, who effectively engaged participants with thought-provoking images. This interactive format prompted attendees to reflect on their own experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of the significance of peer counseling and mental health support in the workplace. Ultimately, the event emphasized the value of open dialogue and the power of community support in promoting mental well-being. In conclusion, the PPDT event served as a significant and engaging platform that showcased the diverse talents of students while reinforcing the college’s commitment to mental health awareness in the workplace. The event’s success can be attributed to the encouragement and inspiration from our Campus Director, Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, as initiatives like these enable the Peer Counselor’s Club to continuously nurture a positive, supportive, and empathetic culture within our campus.
