“Nukkad Naatak”

“Nukkad Naatak” Event for First Years Students of GHRCEM, Pune

The Peer Counsellor’s Club of G H Raisoni College of Engineering & Management, Pune, organized an inspiring event, Nukkad Naatak, at Room No. 322, E Building. This event, aimed at spreading awareness on mental health and social issues, witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The event was especially notable for its emphasis on mental health challenges, a growing concern among young adults in academic settings.

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Pragati Korde and Dr. Vandana Dureja, First-Year Dean, GHRCEM, who showed their support and appreciation for the efforts of the Peer Counsellor’s Club. Their involvement underscored the importance of mental health awareness as an integral part of the college’s culture.

The Nukkad Naatak performance was led by peer counsellor Pravin Paithankar, who, along with his fellow peer counselling club Batch 3 members, played a pivotal role in ensuring the event's success. The students delivered a powerful and moving street play that highlighted the importance of mental wellness, peer support, and the role of counsellors in helping students navigate academic and personal pressures. The performance drew attention to key issues such as depression, anxiety, and the stigmas surrounding mental health, encouraging the audience to be more empathetic and supportive of one another.

Mrs. Surabhi Pranav, counselling psychologist at GHRCEM, delivered an insightful speech, emphasizing the relevance of mental health initiatives and how events like Nukkad Naatak contribute to creating a more informed and sensitive campus environment. She praised the students for their efforts, particularly the leadership of Pravin Paithankar, and encouraged everyone to continue advocating for mental health awareness.

The success of the event was a testament to the dedication and teamwork of the Peer Counsellor’s Club Batch 3 members. They worked collaboratively, not only to deliver a captivating performance but also to ensure the message of the street play resonated with the audience. The interactive nature of the play encouraged students to reflect on their own experiences and consider the importance of peer counselling and mental health support.

In conclusion, Nukkad Naatak was a meaningful and engaging event that not only showcased the talents of the students but also reinforced the college’s commitment to mental health awareness. The success of the event is due to our motivating and inspiring Campus Director, Dr. R. D. Kharadkar. It is through such events that the Peer Counsellor’s Club continues to foster a positive, supportive, and empathetic campus culture.
