The Aadrai Trek, organized by the Sports Club of G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Jalgaon, took place on 19th September 2024. The activity was designed to provide participants with an exhilarating outdoor experience, combining physical fitness, team-building, and an appreciation for nature. The trek aimed to challenge students while allowing them to unwind amidst the serene and monsoon-drenched Aadrai forest. The trek was conducted in the Aadrai Forest, nestled in the Sahyadri mountain ranges, and covered rugged terrains, lush greenery, and scenic waterfalls. The event attracted a total of 68 participants, including both students and faculty members.
Participants were briefed a day before the trek about the necessary precautions and the equipment they needed to carry, such as trekking shoes, rain gear, water bottles, and snacks. Safety protocols and guidelines were provided to ensure a smooth and safe trek. The group departed from the college the evening before, reaching the base camp in the Aadrai forest the next morning. After a quick warm-up and a safety briefing, the trek began. Participants navigated through dense forests, crossed streams, and trekked uphill to scenic viewpoints, experiencing the captivating beauty of the monsoon season.
Throughout the trek, participants demonstrated excellent teamwork, supporting each other during challenging stretches. A mid-trek break allowed everyone to rest, hydrate, and take in the stunning surroundings. The group resumed the trek after the break, reaching the highest point of the trail, where they enjoyed a breath-taking view of the Sahyadri ranges. During a brief stop, an awareness session on environmental conservation was conducted, enhancing the participants’ understanding of the importance of nature and the need to preserve such ecosystems. The return journey was completed successfully with no incidents, and participants reflected on their experience during the bus ride back to the college.
