Yoga Session Organized at GHRU, Saikheda

Yoga and Fitness Club of GH Raisoni University Saikheda has organized a Yoga Session event for the students of the university on 16th March 2024 at GHRU Saikheda Campus. In this event, students understood the details of Surya namaskar and its importance for good health. Students learnt the importance of mantras said at the start and end of the physical activity of Surya namaskars. Students then performed the surya namskars while understanding the details of each step. These activities were meant to expose students to their current physical health and motivate them to improve it by working on it. The students of the school of science participated in it with wholehearted enthusiasm. Around thirty students participated in the event.

First, students were made to do the warm-up activities for five minutes. The president of the club, Mr Shashank, oversaw the performance of the participants. Ms Hemalata Waghmode initially showed how surya namskars should be done and discussed the technicalities and benefits associated with the activity. Many students voluntarily participated and were able to do it for more than three Surya namaskars. The event was supervised by Mr. Pravartan Tatte, faculty coordinator for the Yoga/Fitness Club. 

Outcomes:-

1.      Students enthusiastically did the Yoga and Suryanamaskars.

2.      Students understood the importance of physical fitness.

3.      Students enjoyed the engagement in the activities other than classroom studies.

4.       Students conveyed they will start regular exercise to be fit.

Objectives of the Event:-

1.      To expose students to the benefits of Yoga for health.

2.      To make students understand the importance of Indian way to achieve physical fitness.

3.      To involve students in the activities other than classroom studies.

4.      To make students gauge their current physical strength and motivate them to take up to yoga.
