International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day [ Yoga for Humanity] was celebrated at G H Raisoni University, Saikheda, [M.P] on 21st June 2022.Present on the occasion of International Yoga Day was Yoga instructor Mr Jay Shukla. He has done Yoga teacher Training (TTC) and (ATTC) in Sivananda Ashram in 2011 and 2013 under the guidance of Ishwara Guruji and Prahlad Guruji. He practices and teaches Sivananda Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Pranayam and Meditation for healing, rejuvenating the body and connecting with the inner self.

"Perform action, O Dhananjaya, being steadfast in yoga, abandoning attachment and being balanced in success and failure! Evenness of mind is called yoga."

It is being said that yoga helps balance the body and mind. The term ‘Yoga’ has come from two Sanskrit words- ‘Yuj” which means together and ‘Yujir’ which means ‘To Unite’.

Present at the event were Vice Chancellor Dr. Meena Rajesh Ma’am, Registrar Dr Shriram Joshi Sir, Deans, faculty members and students. There were a total of approximately 50 students and Deans and Faculty members were present. The objective of the event was that it mainly focused on the benefits of Practising Yoga on daily basis.

 

Yoga is widely practiced for health and relaxation; its roots are in ancient India and are considered as an ascetic Hindu spiritual discipline practice. A happy mind. Happy soul and a healthy body all three can be achieved with yoga. The students and the staff members benefitted immensely with the guidance given by Mr Jay Shukla Sir. Healthy living and healthy mind, good spiritual values can lead to a beautiful and better life. His view was that everyone should practice yoga and lead a healthy and stable life. He performed various Yoga Postures and involved everyone in it together. He guided a way through healing and rejuvenating oneself. The event went on until two hours. The event was co-ordinated by Mr Sharukh. The event ended with Vote of thanks given by Manasi Thakkar, Dean Students Development Club and Forum.
