GHRCEM, Pune Hosted Guest Lecture on “Design Thinking”

G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Pune, in a bid to foster innovation and a problem-solving mind-set among its students, organized a compelling guest lecture under the e-Vehicle Club in collaboration with the Eureka Innovation and Incubation Centre. The event, titled "Design Thinking Engineering Tomorrow's Solutions," featured Mr. Praveen Bangera, Founder and Director of XVERS Ltd, as the esteemed guest speaker.

The primary objectives of the lecture were to address the latest challenges in design thinking for research and innovation, expose students to cutting-edge perspectives, ideas, concepts, and solutions related to innovation-driven projects, and emphasize the importance of prioritizing consumers' needs in the design process. The event kicked off with a warm welcome from the volunteers of the e-Vehicle Club and Dr. Asha Shendge, providing a brief overview of the accomplished guest speaker, Dr. Praveen Bangera. Dr. Bangera commenced the session by delivering a comprehensive introduction to the concept of design thinking. He emphasized that the goal of this approach is to create solutions, products, or services that are not only desirable for the user but also economically viable and technologically feasible.

Throughout the lecture, Dr. Bangera illustrated how to use empathy to pose better questions, generate ideas to enhance service experiences, and rapidly bring ideas to life through prototypes, using practical examples to drive his point home. The engaging session saw active participation from the attendees, who posed numerous questions, creating a dynamic and interactive atmosphere. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to Dr. Praveen Bangera by Dr. V. M. Panchade, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Participants lauded the session, expressing that it was a valuable learning experience. The lecture not only broadened their understanding of design thinking but also motivated them to think innovatively and envision Engineering Tomorrow's Solutions.
