Fitness Assessment

GHRU, Saikheda Organized Fitness Assessment

Yoga and Fitness Club of GH Raisoni University Saikheda has organized a Fitness Assessment event for the students of the university on 8th February 2024 at Riaan Towers, Mangalwari, Nagpur. In this event, students were given challenges like two minutes planks, twenty-five push-ups, and twenty-five scots. Also, students were made to run a distance of 100 meters with the maximum speed they could achieve. These activities were meant to expose students to their current physical health and motivate them to improve it by working on it. The students of the school of science participated in it with wholehearted enthusiasm. Around thirty students participated in the event.

 

First, students were made to do at least twenty-five push-ups. The club's president, Mr Shashank, oversaw the participants' performance. He initially showed how a push-up should be done and discussed the technicalities and benefits associated with the activity. The students who completed the twenty-five push-ups were asked to do the plank for about two minutes. Many students voluntarily participated and could do it for more than two minutes. Few girls even touched the time of three minutes plank. The event was supervised by Mr Pravartan Tatte, faculty coordinator for the Yoga/Fitness Club.  

 

Outcomes:

  1. Students enthusiastically did the health assessment activities. 
  2. Students understood the importance of physical fitness.
  3. Students enjoyed the engagement in activities other than classroom studies.
  4. Students conveyed they will start regular exercise to be fit.
