GHRCEM, Pune Organized by Workshop on "How to Play Flute”

The Music and Singing Club is organizing an event, "How to Play Flute", on 17th October 2023. Our student, Mr. Pranit Kalebere, was the session expert. The session commenced with an introduction to the flute as a wind instrument, highlighting its history and significance in various music genres. Participants were introduced to the different parts of the flute, including the head joint, body, and foot joint. The importance of maintaining proper posture while playing the flute was emphasized. Participants learned the correct hand positioning for the flute, ensuring a comfortable and efficient playing technique. The session covered the basic fingerings for playing notes on the flute, starting with the low register. Participants were introduced to embouchure, which involves shaping the mouth and using the lips to produce sound. Practical demonstrations were provided to help participants produce their first notes on the flute. 

The use of breath control and tongue articulation in sound production was discussed. The session introduced fundamental music theory concepts, such as note values, rhythm, and key signatures. The session provided participants with a strong foundation for flute playing. Attendees gained insights into flute anatomy, maintenance, proper posture, and basic fingerings. They were also introduced to the principles of embouchure and basic music theory. A total of 93 students were present for the event.
