 Demo on Energy Generation from Speed Breaker organized at GHRCEM, Pune

Renewable club under Mechanical Engineering Department of GHRCEM Pune organized a demo of “Energy generation from speed breaker”. Usually the vehicle energy is getting waste at each speed breaker when it needs to stop it suddenly. The weight and motion energy of vehicle is converted into linear motion and subsequently into rotary motion. A gear system makes it synchronous with the speed of generator. The system can be effectively placed at high flooded highways, toll plazas, parking lots to harness the energy. This will be an effective way to harness energy as numbers of vehicles are increasing per year. The faculty member Prof. N. P. Deshmukh conducted the demo.

He summarizes the overview of the current status of this technology and concern utilization in the world. He motivated students about undertaking projects in similar research areas. The students enjoyed the session. Overall program was successfully conducted.  Total 16 students from different department were participated in the demo session.
