National Hindi Day Celebration

SRWC, Nagpur Organized Hindi Day Celebration Event

Hindi Day in India started after the independence of the country- On 14 September 1949, due to the efforts of Byohar Rajendra Simha, the Constituent Assembly accepted Hindi written in the Devanagari script as the official language of India- Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Kaka Kalelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupta and Seth Govind Das. Sadabai Raisoni Women's College, Nagpur, celebrated the occasion by organizing a speech competition on the topic "Hindi and Regional Languages: A Controversy."- The event was a great success, with 54 participants from colleges across India. The students proposed various new ideas, thoughts, changes, and dreams in their speeches. The judge of the program, Dr. Neha Dadhe, Teacher Trainer (Mother Language), Prof. Sarita Oberoi, Retd., Banaras Hindu University and Smt. Neha Kalyani, HoD, Department of Hindi, G. S. College of Commerce. IGNOU student Shri Ritesh Tiwari won the first cash prize of Rs-2000- Ms- Khushi Keswani from Sindhu College, Nagpur, bagged the second position with a cash prize of Rs-1500 and the third prize went to Jyotiraditya Singh from Tirpude College, Nagpur with a cash prize of Rs-1000. The program was conducted by NSS Coordinator Prof. Prachi Sasankar and Prof. Swati Adekar under the guidance of Principal SRWC, Nagpur, Mrs. Amina Wali. Cash prizes were awarded to all the winners, and certificates were awarded to all the participants.
