SRWC, Nagpur conducted Christmas Celebration at Swami Sitaramdas Convent Primary School

 Sadabai Raisoni Women’s College took the initiative to reinforce the true essence of festivals and celebrate Christmas with the students of Swami Sitaramdas Convent Primary School, Nagpur on December 24th, 2022. Festivals are occasions that give us an opportunity to come together and celebrate. Christmas, the festival that marks the birth of Jesus Christ is often celebrated with a lot of pomp and show by the haves and richer sections of the society. However, there is a section of people who feel neglected during this time of the year. It needs to be understood that festivals give us an opportunity to come together and celebrate, so how great would it be if the haves came together with the have not.

Believing in the above notion, SRWC students took the initiative to take its students to Government Primary School and share happiness with the less privileged students. Fruit cakes, juices and gifts were given to the children there. The students also organized a cultural program where they sang and danced with the primary school children and motivated them to participate in the celebration. Interactive games were also organized and books were given to the children as prizes. At the end of the day, festivals are all about sharing, caring and bringing a smile on others’ faces. It was learnt that it is easy to be selfish but it is very difficult to be selfless. The experience was heartwarming for all the students and they were filled with the satisfaction of sharing happiness.
