Inter-School Mega Sports Event at G H Raisoni Public School

In the endeavour to focus on the mental, physical and emotional growth of the young generation and to provide them a platform to exhibit their calibre, G.H Raisoni Public School, G H Raisoni Vidyaniketan & Junior College in association with DSO, organized district level sports championship, ‘Mega Sports Event’ from 15^th to 24^th Sept’22 in its college campus ‘Shraddha Park ‘and Nagpur University ground.

Huge number of schools around Nagpur had participated in the event. Various sports activities like, Football, Basketball, Kabaddi, Futsal, Volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis were the prominent games organized. It was extremely a phenomenal event that glorified the world of athletics. The opening ceremony of the event was inaugurated at the hands of Smt. Maya Dubre – an official of DSO, whereas Shri Vijay Munishwar- an international champion in Paralympic and the recipient of Dronacharya award witnessed the valedictory function. Sometimes it’s just a little motivation that ignites the potential and calibre of the young minds, a little push serves as feather in a cap. The young football team of GHRPS (under 17) brought laurels to their alma mater by bagging second position in the championship. The team was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of 5000/-.

There were around 24 schools around Nagpur who participated in the football championship but the shining stars of GHRPS put their tooth and nail to prove their talent under the abled guidance of their sports teacher, Shri Durgesh Jha and Amit Pande, Chairman of Raisoni Group, Shri Sunil Raisoni, Principal of G H Raisoni Public School, Smt. Pooja Mahawadiwar, Vice-principal, Smt. Yuthika Gajbhiye and the entire staff of the school congratulated their sparkling gems with great pride.

Winners of other sports categories were awarded trophy certificates and cash prize of Rs. 5000/- for second runner up and Rs. 7000/- for the winners. Mr. Indrajeet Randhawa, Mr. Pritam Khanorkar, Mr.. Amit Pande and Durgesh Jha navigated the entire event very skilfully.
