Diwali Celebration at G H Raisoni Public School

To mark the auspicious festival of light and happiness, Students of G H Raisoni Public School celebrated the fervour of Diwali with great enthusiasm and zeal.

The entire school was enraptured with fragrance of happiness and energy; earthen lamps enlighten the corridors and lobbies. Various inter class and inter house competitions were organised to celebrate and inculcate the ethics and culture & to make students aware about the importance of the festival. The toddlers enthusiastically participated cracker making competition, students of grade I to VIII demonstrated their creativity by making beautiful lanterns of various sizes and colours, students decorated the earthen lamps using various materials available at home and displayed these lamps in a very attractive patterns. Toran making competition gave students a wonderful opportunity to showcase their creativity. These were then used by them to decorate their classrooms and school.

A wonderful event ‘Community Lunch’ was the cherry on the cake. The students brought lunch from home as per the menu decided under the guidance of their class teacher and shared them with their classmates. The idea behind this activity was to inculcate values such as sharing and caring, respect for food, equality and happiness. The event that witnessed maximum participation, enthusiasm and competitive spirit was Rangoli making and Fort making competition which was an inter house competition. Student designed beautiful Rangolis and miniatures of different forts in Maharashtra. The activity displayed team spirit and decision making among students. Senior secondary students prepared greeting cards with a sweet message to celebrate the festival of lights with great fervour and safety.

 Efforts of the Students were appreciated and motivated by awarding certificates at the hands of the principal Smt. Pooja Mahawadiwar.
