Navratri Celebration

Navratri Celebration

1.      The festival is associated to the prominent battle that took place between Durga and the demon Mahishasura to celebrate the victory of good over evil.

2.      These nine days are solely dedicated to Durga and her nine avatars – the Navadurga.

3.      Each day is associated to an incarnation of the goddess

The students of different streams of GHRU together celebrated Navratri on 1st October 2022.

The theme was Bollywood Garba Night.

Navratri – as the name indicates –is a nine day festival or a nine-night festival.

The purpose of this festival (and many others around the world) is to tell us all that good wins over evil and each of us is meant to chase away wicked thoughts and replace them with good ones.

It is a time when one engages in healthy eating and fasting and pays obeisance to the divine goddess (devi) signified by Goddess Durga with the traditional garbas. Students played Garba on Bollywood songs and enjoyed themselves.
